DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP: FEEDBACK

The Starter is the start-up initiator of the Paris Descartes IUT. In 3 years of existence, 70 projects have been initiated there. Among them, Tanguy and Allan, two project leaders who wanted to rely on Delta Business’ expertise to test their concept with potential users.

Battery Lib' has imagined a smartphone battery rental service allowing users on the move, who do not have an external battery, to recharge it anywhere.

The need: which distribution channel?

Tanguy and Allan, founders of Battery Lib', wondered about the optimal channel to deploy to distribute the batteries and recover them once empty.

The method: a Design Thinking workshop

Conducted within the DB Lab located in Ermont (95), for 2 hours, the workshop brought together a sample of 9 end users. The mission entrusted to them by the Delta Business Lab Team was to generate ideas... from the craziest to the most pragmatic.

« Throughout these two hours, we heard terms that we had already thought of and others that we hadn't heard at all and that's what interested us. » -Tanguy

The co-creation workshop allowed the start-up to discover avenues it had not thought of. It also allowed Battery Lib' to advance in the conceptualization of its project by integrating end users’ experiences and expectations.

« We are a start-up, it is really important for us to have experiences like this to develop our project. » -Allan

Thanks to the Design Thinking method, Battery Lib’ was able to identify three potential customer targets. The avenues mentioned also enabled them to build a unique and original value proposition.

« You have mentioned some very interesting ideas, your points of view will really help us develop our project! » -Allan

The diversity of end users brought together in the Design Thinking workshop also allowed the start-up to build a detailed storyboard answering its questions: where and how do we enter into a relationship with the solution? How do you recover the battery? How do you pay for the rental?

« The fact that you all have a completely different look in your mind, that’s what interested us. » -Tanguy

To support start-ups in understanding customer experiences and enable them to prototype new solutions, Delta Business has created the DB Lab. Halfway between the marketing studio and the laboratory of ideas, this space promotes creativity and co-creation.
